Re: National Knife Day GAW!
Atlantic Salt, workhorse of a knife. In the electrical industry, the type of tasks I do, nothing better. Having a blunt end allows me to take to sites where pointy knives are not allowed.
There are places where the differentiation between what's allowed and what's not is the shape of the tip ...

Nope not planning on it. Just wanted to read what the members would write. I'm low maintenance so the Pacific SE.RustyIron wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 10:32 pmSaltSerious wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 6:27 pmWhat Spyderco best represents who you are? What Spyderco do you want in your casket?

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
Rather you call it a XL Caribbean or a Salty Sequia or whatever the cool name is, I am hoping for a 4" plus backlock with no choil and maximum cutting edge.SchoonerBum wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 5:48 pmI"m still hoping for a Caribbean lightweight backlock. An XL would be great too!

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
I personally would opt for a Resilience but with a back lock and completely "Saltified". Don't care for a forward finger choil. Want maximum cutting edge with nothing to catch on fiberous materials in a full cutting motion.

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
I'm in. My dream salt would prob be a Saber ground SE police salt, although a stretch xl salt is a no brainer.
The Police model in my opinion, would be an excellent platform to capitalize on a larger frame Salt Series. It is essentially a bigger Stretch XL. Back Locks are ideal for the hard use ...

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
I suppose that the upcoming Sequoia/Cliff Jumper once they are "Saltified" will be that FRN backlock Caribbean that we're hoping for.

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt
I feel that in a Salt Series knife it should be choiless. That way the fiberous materials do not get hung up.

Extra Large Backlock Salt
I want to get a feel from the community for a minimum 4 inch cutting edge backlock salt series folder. Obviously would come in SE and PE. My vote would be Magnacut. I'm thinking that the upcoming Sequoia and Cliff Jumper would be great platforms. What say you?

Re: SE MagnaCut Testing Thread
Really well said Dan. I recently purchased the Native 5 Magnacut SE and appreciate those same quality's. Like you said the American made lock back is more robust than the Seki counterparts. Really anticipating the Native Chief in Magnacut. Don't see many videos on YouTube about the SE Magnacut N5.

Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?
Matriarch 2 with Wiseman signet ring offside everyday to cover my SD needs. Atlantic Salt for SE necessities and switch up the PE between the Caribbean or the standard PM2. Recently the Kizer Beglieter XL has seen alot of pocket time. It's so fidget friendly.

Re: Military 2 Salt Series with Magnacut
The concept is great, but unless they do a Compression Lock ala the Caribbean, I think a Military Salt would end up essentially being a Stretch XL. Or they’d have to a do clip side liner in something uber stainless.
The new Military 2 is a compression lock. Spyderco could use the same materials ...

Re: Military 2 Salt Series with Magnacut
Considering the "Coast Guard" is a branch of the Military, I feel that if Spyderco could be able to utilize that moniker, it would be very fitting name for a Salt Series styled Military model.
