Re: Behold my long awaited perfect plain edge Spydie

This one is as close to perfection as it gets, at least in my book. Perfect blade lenght for most daily chores if you ask me, great ergos in a neutral handle, wire pocket clip, thin blade stock ground very thin behind the edge( 0.018") . The 20CV steel is just a bonus. Perfect slicing machine. Sal,...

Re: What Is Your Favorite Go-To Spyderco?

I just love my Spyderco fixed blades, but cannot legally carry them off property in Illinois. The laws here are nonsense. I cannot wait to receive the Yojumbo that much I will tell you. I'll probably carry that knife every day. It looks great! I’m in the same boat in California. Any fixed blade lon...

Re: What Is Your Favorite Go-To Spyderco?

UKPK in S110V - despite a pretty sizable collection of Spyderco and other great knives, this is the one I always find in my pocket. I started carrying it when I was in the UK for several months and I just fell in love with its simplicity and weight.

So, I thought the Vallotton was discontinued but I see it in the catalogue?
I was wondering the same thing when I was flipping thru my catalog the other day.

Re: Gauntlet vs Sharpmaker

I think an updated Sharpmaker with elliptical stones sounds great. It would be really nice to see the best feature of the two platforms merged into one awesome sharpener.

Shaman Z-Wear news?

Any news on when the Shaman Z-Wear will ship? I've noticed that most dealers aren't allowing preorders of this model. Any news or suggestions on preorders? I've really been wanting to grab a Shaman and this one would be my ideal (that or the S90v). Many thanks!

Gauntlet vs Sharpmaker

I’m in the market for a new sharpener and am trying to decide b/w the gauntlet and the sharpmaker. They seem like a similar setup but the sharpmaker gives an additional angle option. Which do y’all prefer?

Re: Anyone else dislike the wire pocket clip?

I also love the wire clip. I much prefer it to the spoon. In fact if I could find aftermarket wire clips to replace the spoons I’d replace every one of them. I really wonder why they put a spoon clip on the Delica in particular.

Buying sprints from Spyderco direct

I’m just curious - how many Sprints does Spyderco hold back for direct sales? As a vet I’m part of the OpSpec program so I can get a discount on direct sales but I’m curious if it’s risky to wait if a sprint I really want is available for preorder from dealers? Should I go ahead and preorder at reta...

Re: Mule Team MT28P CPM SPY27 Revealed!

I can't wait to pick one of these up and surely hope they don't sell out first. My only mule (elmax) with hand carved (by me) snakewood scales was stolen about a year ago :( I'm excited to make myself a new one.

Re: Purchase limits on Sprints/Exlusives

I think their business model is to create happy customers, who continue to generate sales in the long term. It's not an automatic "hahaha." Keeping the final buyers of sprints and exclusives happy is a good long term business, because they are the drivers of the underlying demand. I don't think it'...

Purchase limits on Sprints/Exlusives

So I saw someone mention this in the pricing thread and thought it deserved it's own discussion. Would Spyderco be willing/able to encourage/enforce purchase limits on Sprint runs and exclusives? Say 1 per household from a given retailer? I see a lot of people reselling these at a premium on eBay so...

Re: Pocket clip decisions and preferences

I like the wire clip, and wish it was on more models that the 5% or so I own -- when it comes to the other 95% of my Spydies I replace the 'standard' pocket clip. I don't care for them aesthetically & I don't like having the end of my knife showing, and I'm completely used to removing them from my ...

Re: Pocket clip decisions and preferences

Just curious - are there any aftermarket wire clips available that can be mounted in place of the regular clip? I don't quite know how this would be engineered without modifying the scales but who knows. I did once see a pic of a para3 g10 (I think) which had been modified to accept a wire clip. It ...
