Re: So I want to try a Native.

You can’t go wrong with the Native 5 Salt. It’s my most carried knife because I do things with it that I can’t bring myself to do with my Spydiechef. It sharpens easily when needed, holds an edge long enough for my uses, and is completely maintenance free. I’m not a giant fan of the color of the sca...

Re: Benshot Lil Native Rocks glass

So, say someone were to buy one of these and remove the blade from the glass...accidentally. How long would it take to put a decent edge on it using the Sharpmaker? Asking for a friend... Also, and I hadn’t considered this, do you think they’re actually usable blades or a second/not treated/defectiv...

I’ll be carrying my Spydiechef today. Is there any more appropriate Spyderco for this holiday?

Re: Best Spydie for kayaking and canoeing...

I don't kayak or canoe, but I do spend quite a bit of time on my paddleboard. When I do, I carry my Dragonfly Salt 2 IWB. I also carry it any time I'm going to the beach and/or fishing.

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

Would you be able to swap this blade into LW scales, or no? Like the idea of a Cruwear blade, but I don’t need something that heavy in my pocket all day. Darby did a swap into LW scales. Will only save you a half ounce. More interested in being able to swap it into scales I can dye. Not a big fan o...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

I know this sounds crazy, but my brother had one show up at his house today. It was addressed to him, but the return address was a fake (no house there), and it was shipped from a completely different state than listed on the return address. So, hold onto your hope...you never know. :con...

LC200N (Native 5 Salt), but will be swapping over to my Spydiechef when I take my wife out to dinner later.

Re: Is it time for a Black Native Salt yet?

It’s incredibly easy to dye yours black, if you have one. Some examples of dye jobs I have done are below. And yes, I'm aware they're not both Spyderco knives, please excuse the blasphemy. :)

Re: How Spyderco came out on top

I EDCed a mini-griptilian for many, many years. Kept seeing and hearing things about the Spydiechef. As an avid fisherman, I loved the idea of a folder purpose built for use in ‘harsh’ environments. Jokingly asked my wife for one for Christmas and the rest is history.

Re: Upland game/Small game knife

Have you looked at the Mantra 2? Seems like it would fit what you’re looking for. The mantra 2 blade shape is fine, excellent steel, a tad long for me but doable. The metal scales are a no go with greasy/bloody hands and/or cold weather/water. I can definitely understand the cold issue, but I use m...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

I'm really hoping for CPM 4V. Yeah, you'd think they could di a re-run of a model that sold out in like 50 seconds, Haha. I guess you're referring to a specific dealer since the originalt thread has gone on for weeks, and i see them on a daily basis (just not from US dealers) also pictures pop up d...

Re: Pacific Salt 2

Still hoping that this comes out soon in PE and SE FFG LC200N with Toxic Green FRN. It would be great to have the option for pointy tip vs blunt tip as well. I would prefer pointy tips on these personally. Pretty easy to get a toxic green for any of the salts that come with a yellow handle. The yel...

Re: Your "return ethics"?

In my personal opinion, ethics don’t enter into the equation. Purchasing an item from a seller is entering into a contract with that seller. If they include the option to return an item that is unwanted in the contract and I return that item because it’s unwanted, I’m still honoring that contract. S...

Re: Spyderedged Blades: A Total Mis-Understanding Maybe?

I’m one of those who won’t carry anything other than a PE knife for EDC, and I honestly can’t tell you why. I recently ordered my brother his first Spyderco as a thank you gift. Like me, he fishes quite a bit. So, I purchased him a Salt 2 Wharncliffe in SE. I opened to box and messed with the knife ...
