Re: Shaman Z-Wear Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)
The M4 version I purchased from a member on another forum was essentially perfect in every regard, without a trace of side to side, or vertical movement. Plus it was dead on centered and exhibited no squeaking, binding or any of the other issues reported regularly to plague this version. I very much...

Re: Has K390 "obsoleted" M4/REX45/HAP40?
I'd be curious just how many folks can tell the difference between one steel and another on a daily use basis if they are not conducting a rigorous test to determine just how many cuts they can make with a knife before the edge no longer slices phone book paper. I think the difference in corrosion r...

I never tire of the M4 "bite".
Obsolete? I see 1095 is still around...I figure none of these fine steels are going the way of the dodo. (Not the Spyderco version.)

Re: Why are so many people concerned with perfect blade centering?
If I weren't interested in the precision of the build nor the aesthetics, I'd just use a box opener or a cheap production knife for most all of my tasks. They're easy to keep sharp and they're disposable. A certain price point implies a certain level of quality in both the materials and the build ....

Re: Let’s see some blues
https://i.ibb.co/G7yRGHZ/Shaman-2.jpg That dye job came out fantastic! That's a great shade of blue. I'd rock that Shaman no problem  Thanks. I can't take credit for it. I bought it that way, (new but for the dye job), from the original owner on the exchange at bladeforums, and at a bargain p...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman: availability discussion & lookout thread
Can confirm, via my favorite Spyderco dealer, that the model should be coming in the next week or two. He mentioned that the run should be about double the norm...or about 3,000 total pieces or so (from what he understands).
Not going to put him on the spot by quoting him verbatim.

Re: Sharpmaker angles may be off
I checked a couple years back and mine were definitely off, both from each other as well as the angles they are supposed to be.
Didn't stop me from continuing to use as is, however.
Somehow, I've managed to survive this blow. :p

Re: Sharpmaker Questions
Your cleaning techniques are just fine and mimic my own. They should work well for most any buildup on the rods. Using the corners (only) is a method used by some, the main concern would be moderating the force exerted, and being extra careful to maintain the bevel angle since you have such a small ...

Re: What do you think of metal handles?
In general not a big fan unless there is sufficient texturing to afford a good grip in less than ideal conditions.
That said, I have several...some I really like, and others, not as much, whether standard production, Sebenzas, or customs.

Re: Spyderco Medium Bench Stone - where does it lie ?
I use the brown rods almost to the exclusion of the white (fine and ultra-fine) for most all knives these days.
(Diamond hones, whether plated or bonded, are usually used to prepare the edge for the microbevel received from the Sharpmaker. Occasionally water stones or SiC or AlOx.)

Re: How about a new Military?
LC200N, there are plenty of Salt knives, what would be the benefit of a Salt Military? Speaking for myself, because I prefer the Military pattern. I don't buy patterns that don't appeal to me simply for the steel. There are lots of patterns that have the same steel...from large to small. I have thr...

Re: How about a new Military?
Up until (maybe) this morning I'd have gone with 4V which I've yet to own...but I'm just intrigued enough to want to try out LC200N, and so it gets my vote.
Both would be the best answer for me personally.
