Hi Harkwit,

It would have to go back to the shipper. We don't have inventory.

sal
Ah, shoot. Sharpening definitely puts the knife outside their return policy, so I'll live with it. :)

Thanks sal and everyone! Be well!

Re: PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

Nice job on the fix, Harkwit. My K390 P4 doesn’t have that issue. Out of curiosity, had any material been ground off the kick when you got the knife? (The area at the front of the lower finger choil that contacts the backspring, and regulates the height that the blade sits above the backspring and ...

Re: PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

I would have just returned it since these are still in stock at KC and there is no way I would have accepted paying for shipping on the return. Second, I probably would have ground down the backspacer and not the blade but it doesn’t look like you thickened the edge up much at all. All that matters...

Re: PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

The thing with buying a knife from Knife Center is that if you have a problem, just call them. This is their exclusive and Spyderco might not even have inventory on hand to issue a replacement. Knife Center will email you a shipping label that you can print and use to ship it back to them. They'll ...

Re: PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

Hi Harkwit, Sorry for your issue. I've not had that issue on any of my P4's., including the Knife Center version. If it bothers you, you can send it back . did the sharpening solve the issue? sal Hi Sal! It's alright; I figure it's probably just a lemon, but I wanted to toss out the warning in case...

Re: PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

Eh, my fear was that I'd go through the hassle, pay return shipping, etc. just to get another knife with the same problem. I like the knife substantially otherwise and if a bit of sharpening fixes the issue, then so be it. It may keep dinging the edge. As you sharpen it more the edge will slowly mo...

PSA: Pakkawood Police 4 blade hits backspacer/backspring

Had a bit of a nasty surprise yesterday when I got my new police 4 out of the box from Knifecenter. After a few opens and closes (and not necessarily hard closes either; not really easy to do on a backlock), I noticed the blade had two very noticable chips/flattened dents on the middle of the edge. ...

Would dyed scales really void the warranty on something like this?
I'm pretty sure all modifications void warranty. I had sent in a PM2 once that had a lanyard tube swapped (DLC for a Satin) with vertical play that they sent back unfixed. Still payed shipping though. It is what it is.

Spyderco Caribbean CQI rusting

Hi guys! I got one of the new Caribbeans with the CQI black hardware, but unfortunately it looks like these are prone to rusting (though it's not particularly easy). I had it in my pocket during a swim in the ocean in Sanibel; and once I took it apart the next day I noticed rust forming around the b...

Lil Lum Vertical Play

Heya, I got a Nishijin lil lum from knifeworks that arrived with a pretty late lockup and vertical blade play. I did a bit of googling and saw a thread of someone having the exact same problem on theirs. Can anyone who owns this knife vouch one way or the other? Is it worth trying for a replacement ...

Was bored and decided to make a mockup of what I'd love to see in a Para 3 LW Salt edition. More spydie-chef shaped blade. I dunno, it was fun.

Factory Tours

Hey all, I know we got a tour of the Spyderco us factory, which was awesome. I love getting to see the faces behind those making our knives, really makes it feel more personal. I was wondering, will we ever get a tour of Spyderco’s international factories? Namely the Taiwan, Japanese, and Italian fa...

Stonewash

Dear Spyderco,

The stone wash finish you did on the Shaman is probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Please do it on more knives.

Signed,
A man with a loose wallet.

Spyderco Customizer: A future possibility or a forever dream?

Hi guys, I love the concept of Benchmade’s customizer, and I might actually be getting a custom griptillian from my fiancé that will be fighting my shaman for pocket space... Will we ever potentially see a Spyderco customizer system, where we could order some of Spyderco’s most popular knives with o...

Spydiechef question

Hey guys,

Regarding the spydiechef, I had a few questions about the lock,

Is there an overtravel stop?

Also, is there a steel insert, or is the blade resting on bare titanium?

If the answer to the above is both no, how do you guys see the spydiechef holding up over time and constant use?

Hey all,

Sorry if this has been asked or discussed already, but do we have an ETA on the release of the Mantra 3? Itching for that compression lock flipper! :)

The Potential of LC200N

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum, a recent lover of Spyderco. So far I have a Caribbean, a Manix 2 LW in S90V (CutleryShoppe), a CF Chaparral, and a ZDP-189 Dragonfly. As someone who lives in one of the most humid and salty places in America (Florida), I'm super intrigued by the rust-proof steels like...
