Re: HAP40 or REX45?

In a pocket knife, Rex-45 is better. In a properly heat treated chef's knife, HAP40 every day. Horses for courses.

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

Anyone have their order of the Knife Joker exclusive Shaman CPM-CRU-WEAR Black DLC Blade Forest Green G-10 C229GPFGBK ship yet? Only his buddies in the FB group. I got in on the first preorder. Messaged him Thursday after seeing other people getting theirs. They response literally was, “just becaus...

Haha. Fitting name for his website. J/K. Would’ve been a nice knife. Not worth the trouble.
Send us your site URL, so we can buy your exclusive.

Thanks.

Patience and have the money ready. Everything turns up for sale in the end. Be ready to jump on it once it does.

A non-pinned C42.
Bolstered Persians.
Phoenix - but I think the cost would make me faint.

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

Sweet lord, many here would boo santa. He is one guy running a small business. He has taken a gamble and paid the price to get an exclusive for his company. Remember, a single guy. He probably doesn't have the online infrastructure to be swamped with 500+ orders in 5 minutes. He'll need to pack and ...

A great idea to play in th...

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

I think Spyderco would only be selling them to Spyderco fan's and not users. Better off being a commemorative piece like a 2020 forum "knife". As a seller in any numbers, I think it would be a flop. With fewer shaving these days, the pervasiveness of those horrible 10 blade / $20 for 4 car...

Re: A plea to Sal and Alistair

No to the liner lock. They are average at best especially with free swinging blades. Unless you use a blunt or average sharpening on your knife, let's keep hands and fingers out of the blade path. The compression is fine. The CQI changes were made for the compression lock, so I can't see them changing...

Re: a little (REC) help for down under

Rec's suggestion is to use a freight forwarder. I've had this argument with them. They seem not to care about anyone accept US customers. Poor customer service in my opinion, but hey, it's their business. They can obviously afford to leave the cash on the table for thousands of potential customers....

Re: Kaparas are coming!!!!

Mine is a daily user and has been since they were released. The S30V blade is great, open and close is great after a little use like most Spyderco's. The only place I've found rust was on the liners during cleaning, but a quick hit with a rust eraser and then a coat of inox food-grade grease and thi...

I think the scales make the knife. If I wanted an FRN version, I'd just use my stretch.

Re: Spyderco Kapara to Redback Mod

I'm looking forward to it. One of my Kapara's is a tweaked version from Alistair. It will be nice to have it closer to the original. He also recommends the Ripp's Garage wire replacement clip to make it as close as possible.

Re: Who uses Sharpmaker exclusively?

I added to my sharpmaker. I've added a smallish piece of kangaroo leather loaded up with a 5 micron compound . Flip the sharpmaker over when done and you have a flat surface to give you knife a final touch up.

Re: Vtoku meerkat?

Apologies if I spoilt the meerkat announcement. I was just flicking through my paperwork and hadn't seen it mentioned so I asked the question on a facebook page. It is listed as a model due for v-toku2 on the Manbug insert.
