Re: Do you have "easy to sharpen / high edge retention"-pairs of your favorite Spydercos?

I can claim Delica 4 in: VG10, S30V, Vtoku 2, Zdp-189, M390, SuperGold 2, and Damascus. You can arrange those into pairs to see how many that makes! VG10 has seen approximately 99.65% of the use so I can't offer any detailed experience comparing and contrasting them. I seem to be content with VG10 a...

Re: a painful lesson relearned

If you buy and ship things frequently enough and over the course of years ... you will likely run into a problem with any of the shipping providers. I have, so can't say one is any better than the others ... usually opt for convenience.

I'm thinking the metal detectors were visual and not functional. I have metal detectors you run across the ground and they are incredibly sensitive, a knife blade would kick it into overload mode....

Re: Upcoming Sage 5 LW - Who's In?

I'm excited about this one. Have wanted a Sage for a while now. Go back and forth on the 1 and 5. If this one is noticeably less dinero - I know which lock I'll get in carbon fiber and which one I'll get in FRN.

Re: CTS-BD1N Thoughts and Opinions

I purchased two different blades with it this year and I am content with each (for reference, I like VG-10 and am just getting to the so called super-steels). One of the blades is kitchen cutlery by another manufacturer and I decided the other day to buy more in that series. The other is a spdercp p...

Re: FRN vs G10 vs Wood: Strengths and Weaknesses in each for Spyderco Knife Handles?

Wasn't too long ago and FRN was an unfathomable super material!!! Now it just seems cheap.... Ha Ha! I understand you. I too was a big wood guy myself - even to the extents of +$1000 into the wood stock of a hunting rifle. Wet your pants gorgeous!!! I still enjoy the beauty and variety of wood speci...

Re: FRN vs G10 vs Wood: Strengths and Weaknesses in each for Spyderco Knife Handles?

My first Spyderco is a Delica 4. It's my bias but for pocket knives "True Spyderco's are FRN". Over 10 years later and every bit as good as new. Glad to see the Para 3 and Sage going in this direction! And new knives such as the Endela continuing this heritage.

Running for cover....

Re: M390 Delica Blue FRN Bento Box Shop Exclusive

I see these are up on that big cesspool auction site for $165 plus free shipping ... how generous 'cuss they are still available at Bento at Bento's so called outrageous pricing of $108 plus $15 shipping.

Re: M390 Delica Blue FRN Bento Box Shop Exclusive

I received two, bevel height is taller on one and probably the tallest I've seen on any of my Delica 4's. The tall one will go in my pocket and the other into my Delica drawer. The orange one, the knife fairy dropped by the other day....

Re: M390 Delica Blue FRN Bento Box Shop Exclusive

My experience with Bento is for an order placed Friday, label is created on the weekend, package not in carriers possession until late Monday and delivery to me on Thursday... so I won't see mine for a couple more days (and I placed the order in the opening minutes). Not complaining, just letting o...

I’d buy one. I would like to see some real thought go into the sheath.
Kydex would work for me ... is likely going to get wet.

Re: Would anyone else have interest in a Spyderco fillet knife?

Right on!!!! But, flex is key as you have already referenced. My use is for Kokanee about 18"-22" in length. I have used the Rapala 6" Finland for years and it does the job well. It was bought at Kmart for a couple of bucks. Dulls easily and sharpens quickly so when filleting a catch of 10 to 20 fis...
