Re: Overturning of Knife Restrictions

Good piece. Thanks for putting it up in the forum. I didn’t know about Knife Rights but will look into them. The knife laws were I live are really restrictive but unclear at the same time. They essentially prohibit the carrying of any knife unless you have a legitimate reason for carrying it but wh...

Re: Overturning of Knife Restrictions

I don't read the washingtonpost their liberal controlled news reports are always slanted and worthless. What would help to get knife laws changed the people that have companies making knives in their states, like for example Spyderco would get their state of Colorado to stop forcing their citizens t...

Re: Nitrogen-Alloyed Knife Steels

I have used N680, and I was impressed. But it can only be had in round bar and I forged it to a flat and then annealed it and ground it to three knives. Finished one and the other two are waiting to be ground to shape. Sharpens like SAK steel, but holds an edge slightly better than 440C at 58HRC. V...

Re: Spyderco Caribbean why not Mfged. in Golden CO?

I just can't help thinking just what David "Davy" Crockett would have thought, if when he stopped at James Blacks shop in Washington Arkansas to buy a knife, on his way to fight and die March 6, 1836 at the Alamo. If Mr. Black had told Davy i don't have a Coffin handle Bowie Davy today i h...

Re: Spyderco Caribbean why not Mfged. in Golden CO?

Hi Snapshot, We began making knives in '81 with all of them made in Japan. We didn't start our US factory in Golden until the 90's. sal When i was getting started in being a knife part time salesman, at a local sporting goods store, i didn't know anything about the Spyderco line of knives. After se...

Re: Spyderco Domino Replacement Parts

I feel really sorry for you knife people living in Canada, i read in Blade Magazine how the shops selling knives are having problems getting knives shipped to them. Re: Special markings on Sprint&Limited Editions.

I just feel if people pay extra to get a special Spyderco knife, they might like knowing, it can be identified as being not just a plane model Spyderco knife but special Spyderco knife.
It was just an idea so don't lose any sleep over my post.

Special markings on Sprint&Limited Editions.

On my Benchmade Triage first responder rescue knife, the first 12 of 1000 is marked on knifes blade.
I would like to see this same type of marking on Spyderco Sprint and Limited Edition knifes.
It would add a lot to the knifes value.

If you ever think there is a problem with your new knife, never try to take it apart call Spyderco support, and let them advise you as what needs to be done.

Re: why has Spyderco not made an Auto Knife.

I wonder how often an auto gets caught mid-shipment and what repercussions the buyer has to deal with... It would really be unfortunate to spend $600 on a auto to have it confiscated and looking at federal charges. Eek [/quote] One way to cut back on liability if you’re concerned is to have the ven...

Re: why has Spyderco not made an Auto Knife.

I’m like 99.999% sure you only need an active FOID card here in Illinois. Not the CCW permit. But Chicago still doesn’t allow any autos to be carried by anyone. Edited to remove quote. Also adding link because it also addresses the sale/exchange of autos. https://kniferights.org/legislative-update/...
