I LOVE VG-10 steel. Way better than CPM-440V. I like CPM-440V as far as edge holding goes, but I cannot seem to get a fine polished edge on it. Now VG-10, man. I thought there was a tradeoff between edge holding and easy sharpening, but I dont think there is with VG-10.

Is this price something that is likely to go down with time/increased production? (cause that is quite expensive) Would it be possible to coat only one flat and one corner to make them cheaper? How about offering single ones?

I'm allowed to dislike one spydie. Uh-oh. That's not good. I really dont like the Native. It's at the bottom of my list. The blade shape just doesn't do it for me. I'm sure to be excommunicated now...

Hey Guys... Well, I'll probably be excommunicated or kicked off the forums or something equally bad for saying this, but the Lum Chinese isnt my favorite spydie. First, I love the blade and the blade steel, but I can't quite get over the way it feels in the hand. It just doesnt fit me like my Mil or...

Well Received Spydie

Hey Ya'll... I got my Dad a Delica for christmas. He had carried an "Uncle Henry" sliplock for as long as I can remember. Actually he had 2 or 3 ready to send back to the company (both broken). When I was younger, he was cutting something (PVC pipe I think) and the knife closed on his thum...

Well, I have both. Actually I have two Militaries. (one serrated, one plain). I'm sure I'll get a lot of gasps and stares, but I like the Military better. Although the Lum is beautiful and I LOVE VG-10 steel, the Military is much nicer to carry, handle and use. The Lum Chinese doesnt seem to fit my ...

Ah, there's some interesting chemistry involved in anodization. "Almite" is a form of anodization. Unlike steel, when Aluminum oxidizes, it forms a very hard coating that does not flake off. Aluminum oxidizes pretty readily in air. Anodizing is a process where a metal is placed in a "...

Hey nervous... I took some thinner carboard and wrapped it around my sharpmaker stone and clipped it on with those metal "binder clips" and applied that stropping compound. I used stroked the blade backwards up the stone and it worked great. The stiffer cardboard keeps the blade from getti...
