Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on Spyderco Forums. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. Spyderco Forum Rules

    1. The Spyderco Forum is available for open discussion and the free exchange of opinions and ideas relating to Spyderco products, philosophies, and related topics. Postings are public and are not edited for content, style, or factual errors.

Although the administrators and moderators of the Spyderco Forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, we can't review all messages. All messages express the author's views, and Spyderco will not be held responsible for the content of any message.

Like the community you live in, the Spyderco Forum works best when everyone follows basic standards of conduct. Your privilege to use and contribute to discussions depends on your compliance with our forum rules. The Spyderco Forum administrators and moderators may revoke your registration privileges or take other appropriate measures to enforce these guidelines if violations are brought to our attention.

    2. Treat others with respect, courtesy, and grace. Do not harass, threaten, embarrass, bully, or cause distress or discomfort upon another Spyderco Forum participant or other individual or group.

Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, racially or ethnically hateful, or otherwise violative of any laws.

Do not address or comment on anyone's sexual orientation or gender.

    3. Spyderco values all members of our forum. We do not use Ranks or Labels for our members.

Do not impersonate anyone in the Spyderco Forum, particularly a Spyderco Forum official. Do not falsely represent yourself as a representative of Spyderco. Administrators and Moderators are visible as such on our forum.

    4. We expect members to act maturely and with kindness. Disagreements will happen, but they can be discussed without being rude.

The Spyderco forum is intended to be family-friendly. Please refrain from posting inappropriate material and using profanity.

We don't expect everyone to like each other or agree with each other. Everyone has the ability to SCROLL past a post rather than stir conflict or add an unproductive comment. Scrolling is your friend. If you find you just can't scroll past, then utilize the "Friend or Foe" feature in the User CP to block someone.

    5. Buying, Selling, and trading are not allowed on the Spyderco forum. This includes a forum thread, post, and signature line.

Our forum is a unique community. We prefer to foster discussions. There are many options outside of the Spyderco Forum for buying, selling, and trading.
      #
    6. Do not post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, SPAM, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation on the Spyderco Forum. #
    7. Spyderco strictly enforces our copyrights and strives to honor others' copyrights. Do not post copywritten material for which you are not the owner. #
    8. In an attempt to respect the extreme diversity of our members, we ask that you do not start or participate in any discussions relating to religion or politics. #
    9. Links in signatures are allowed. However, they must lead to sites whose primary content is relevant to the content on our Forum. Spyderco Administrators and Moderators will have the final say in determining relevance and will remove links accordingly.

Posting links to images: If a member has to click on a link that takes them to any site other than an image-sharing site or your site, the link will be removed. If you are linking to an image on your site, it must be done so in a manner that directs the link to the image, not to the site.
      #
    10. By posting on the Spyderco Forum, you agree that Spyderco can display, modify, transmit, distribute, or delete your posting without your further permission. Spyderco does not typically edit postings and is not responsible for the content of posted comments or images. Spyderco may remove posts at any time at their sole discretion.

Spyderco does not take or accept any obligation or liability relating to any content or activities in a topic area. Members of the Spyderco Forum take full responsibility and liability for any and all posts/comments they make.
