FYi,
Anyone interested, I found an ammo dealer, HD Tactical that has a good selection & price and only $9.99 shipping & that includes if you only want 1 box of shells -
I bought a box of Federal Terminal Ascent & the shipping was only $9.99 via FedEx & weekend delivery- I bought it Wednesday and received it this Saturday.
Ammo shipped out of Texas. Fort Worth if not mistaken.
HD Tactical seems like a good outfit.

Greetings, please don't enable me into reading this epic thread in its entirety, cuz I will! Has anyone tried & tested the Glock 47 and would anyone be willing to share their opinion on here? Full disclosure, I'm getting my license just to get my hands on one. Does it come in a 47L?

Why do you need a license to buy a pistol?
Where are you?

There are no reviews for the Glock 47 on this thread.

Hi Mac, I'm in Old Europe which is severely restricted when it comes to firearms licensing. Getting a sports license takes about a year and a couple grand and needs the governor's personal signature to be validated.

I did a retro Larue Tactical build after I got a good deal on a Larue lower. I did go with a PredATAR barrel instead of the traditional stealth barrel to save some weight. Balances pretty good, finding all the older parts was fun, but spendy, and I run quad rails on pretty much all working guns. That 13.2 rail is looong.

Upper assembly was a pain as my suppressor mount didn't clear the inside of the rail after I had already cranked it down... other than that the fit and finish are way above par with this one.

So I heard the suppressor form 4 turn around times had been reduced drastically. For those not familiar with buying a suppressor NFA wait times could previously take over a year to get approved by the ATF.

I had a buddy get a form approved in 36 hours and I decided to test it and see. This suppressor will likely live permanently on this Ruger MKIV that's setup for night time critter dispatch.

Mine was not 24 hours but did come back in 4 days approved. I just bought another .22 sparrow to try these short wait times out to see if it was true or not, but now I'll be shopping for some additional big bore suppressors now that they are coming back in less than a week.

I'd like a recommendation for a 3.5 to 4.5 inch 9mm. It must have a real safety ( I already have Glocks and don't consider this a real safety) . 10 round minimum with 15 preferred.

Under $600.

One that I've been looking at is the Girsan clone of the Browning Hi-Power/FN P35. Specifically, the compact version:

https://eaacorp.com/product/girsan-high ... mc-p35-pi/

This is a copy of the old FM (Argentina) "Detective" model. Hence the "PI" name.

If you're willing to buy a gun made in Turkey, this would meet your requirements: 3.9" barrel, 15+1 capacity, and $585 MSRP (so presumably retail price will be a little less). And since it's single-action, it has a real safety.

I've shot a real Browning HP a lot, so I'm very familiar with the HP platform. But I don't have any first-hand experience with the Girsan. The regular (longer barrel) version has gotten pretty good reviews though.

(Sadly, I probably won't buy this or any other gun until/unless I move out of WA. The gun laws in WA were pretty good for many years. But in the last 10 years or so, they've gone kaput. WA isn't as bad as CA or IL yet, but it's only a matter of time.)

Thanks. I admit I haven't held either in my hand but I like the weight, capacity, design etc. I'll find them to see how they feel. The grip and low bore is what I have always liked about the Glocks so anything I buy will have to point naturally like the Glocks do. I've had full size Beretta , Various S&W 39, and 45 stainless models, Colt Officers, Gold Cup 45's, Rugers and a bunch of others but none lasted for one reason or another.

I was thinking of a High power based design because I like the feel of those . The CZ 75 design is nice as well. It's apparent I am behind the times with the current market and there are a bunch I have never seen or heard of before. I didn't realize how common those polymer frames have gotten. I have much catching up to do.

HK P30L V3, 4.45” barrel.
Standard P30 V3, 3.85” barrel.

These two first came to mind….then you said under $600!

I like the HK a bunch . If I was going to spend more than I wanted it would be for that. There really isn't much HK stuff I don't like. I fell in love with the HK G3 when In Germany training with the German army and bought an HK91 when I got home. It's clunky but has never failed me and I do like having the 308 around.

There is a gun show coming up in june so I can get to look at and hold the ones I want to decide between. The actual gun stores near here really don't keep a lot of stock on hand anymore.

Sometimes you can find the P30's right at $599. CZ makes great pistols in the 75 series. S&W offers their m&p models with safeties if you wanted a striker fired gun. They point well for me but I don't like the 2 piece trigger.
