Hi,
I wanted to see if anyone would be able to tell if this product is fake? I purchased a Sypderco Cat through Onkata/Amazon (had a gift card). I previously purchased a couple Spyderco's, one directly from manufacturer. The packaging on this was different. It came in a Amazon bag, inside cardboard sealed with masking tape, and the smaller Sypderco box inside. The knife was in plastic folded over, sealed with mild tape or adhesive. My concerns were the lettering is all capital, as opposed to my other knives and Spyderco's website picture. Also the knife and blade were heavily coated in anti corrosive, my hands still feel coated after several washings. It's not a super expensive knife but want chance to return if possible fake. Does anyone have an idea if these can be fake? Is that the original manufacturer packaging/lettering etc?
Thanks for any help!

I believe Onkata is a registered dealer. They sell through Amazon, so that would explain the packaging. Did you buy it through Amazon??
I believe a lot of Taiwan and Japan made Spydercos use all capitals if not all.

Re: Sypderco Cat Fake?
Thanks for responding. Yes it was purchased fulfilled by Amazon sold by onkata. I wasn't sure about the lettering as Sypderco's website has the lowercase lettering for that model, like the native I have.
