Today was photograph radioactive mineral day, I'm sure I will post more up but I'm starting here as I like this shot.
This is Boltwoodite, a potassium-uranium bearing silicate mineral. Both the yellow and orange crystals are boltwoodite.

Probably more of a vein in a wall of rock more likely. It is out of Namibia Africa region. I hope the pics blow up big when clicked.

Meta-Autunite - can you guess it is radioactive? I have measured the average activity at 3.5 micro-sieverts/hr and 2300-2400 counts per minute (cpm) at its closed perky box.
Meta-Autunite - Saxony, Germany (1)crop.jpg
For reference, my background radiation rate averages about 0.1 micro-sieverts/hr and about 100cpm.

Snipe Fly - Another predatory species.

Long-legged Fly - I was surprised to find out that these were predatory, feeding on other small arthropods such as Spider Mites, Aphids, Whiteflies, and even Termites.

I just noticed this for the first time and I'm making a mental note to participate soon if I manage to remember.

This one technically exceeds the macro range and it's not a current photo, obviously.
