Buying my first Paramilitary 2

#1

Post by CBaird43 »

So I am interested in buying my first paramilitary 2. Looking around for the best deal I ran across a pm2 I didn't recognize. This specific knife has green g10 scales and a black coated blade. I know there has been several sprint runs and exclusives but I did not recognize this one. The seller says this is 100% authentic. Can someone confirm that this is a true American made pm2 and not a clone?

Also this knife was purchased in 2012 and has just been sitting in a collection not being used. Has the pm2 changed between now and then or has it stayed the same since then?

Thanks everyone!!

I don't remember any sprints or exclusives with that combination.

There was a light green (foliage green) with Elmax steel (uncoated).
There was a dark green (forest green) with CTS-204P steel (uncoated).

It COULD be where someone had one of those and swapped a normal S30V black blade into the handle or just swapped the scales.

Welcome CBaird43!

This link should have all the Paramilitary and Paramilitary 2 models listed.

Honestly, I think you're better off choosing a current model PM2 that you like and buying it from one of the many dealers that sell authentic Spyderco products. Even if it means saving your money a little longer, it's worth the piece-of-mind.

I too would go with a reputable dealer, especially for a knife like PM2. Out of all the Spyderco's, PM2 is probably the most counterfeited knife.

That said. Great choice! I am holding one right now. It was my first Spyderco. Bunch of knives later, still my favorite. Even have a new one on the way as we speak, arriving on Friday.

Lot of awesome :spyder: out there. Good luck.

If it's this one, I think I'd pass. But I'm not a PM2 expert.

If it is not to late, go find yourself one of the CPM-S35VN sprints. A bit more out of pocket, but of my my collection, it seems to be my favorite. Or is it the M390, or the blackout, or the s110v. ****, now I am confused lol.
Good luck and enjoy your pm2!
