This shows the optimal carbide peak for the given geometry noted and it is necessary to go above and below that angle to suit the lower and higher carbide steels. That table will be expanded with such work which can then show at a given edge finish the optimal angle as a function of carbide volume. This data can then be added to by repeating the entire thing with a more coarse and more fine finish to added the edge finish angle. Note that this is of course for a given force/speed of cutting on a given medium, different materials being cut with different methods will also change the optimal points.
