2014 Collabos...

#1

Post by twinboysdad »

K2, Sclyz Bowie, Rubicon, Chubby, Schempp Bowie, Battle Station, and I am missing one I bet...

will 2014 be remembered as THE Spydie/collabo year? I really can't see how it would not be with these super stars all dropping. Is there a past year I am forgetting? I know JD always harkens the "Golden Age of Spyderco" but hard to beat 2014 IMO :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :D

Also, I do agree that this is quite the year for collabs. It makes it difficult because being a big collab year also makes it an expensive year for spyderco enthusiasts.

I have added the K2, dogtag and the (not collab, of course) s110v manix in the past couple months. I likely will be eyeing more of the tried and trues as I have yet to explore the likes of the Native, Chaparral, or Sage among others.

I'm not sure on the exact release date, but would the firefly be a 2014, too?

It doesn't look like the Firefly will be ready this year. Some glitches in mfg. Probably early next year.

A little off topic. We create designs to serve a wide variety of knife afi's. It would be very costly to try to acquire more than your budget allows. A hobby or interest must be managed with moderation. This is true of all interests, in my opinion. An interest or hobby, should bring you enjoyment for a long time, and hopefully maintain it's value. I like to sail. I enjoy looking at the pics and specs of all of the great boats from America's cup and foils, to the dingy's. But I sail small boats as they serve my interest without consuming me.

Does the Bradley Bowie count?
