Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

When I handled the prototype at the Spyderco Meet in 2018 and the production sample last month I have written down just this issue with the pocket clip on the feedback cards they had. I really hoped they had looked at it and make the changes that where necessary. CQI it and you will have a awesome ...

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

A couple of other findings: The stop pin is corroded and looks old or used. Also, as I was holding the knife I heard something rattling; it turns out all of the scale screws were loose with one nearly falling out. I've never seen such low quality coming out of the Taichung factory. Not to add insult...

I applaud you taking the high road with your reply to what appears to be a condescending question.

It took all of my self-control not to respond to that incredibly juvenile question.

Helpful review, thank you. But just to clarify... you're going to return a knife that a bird pooped on when you were using it?!?

Well the warranty states that it is for materials and workmanship and bird poop isn't either of those (plus I cleaned it off already). :)

The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

I received my new Drunken today and thought I would post my first impressions of it since this model is so new and there aren't even Youtube reviews up. I purchased the Drunken because the Spydiechief is one of my all-time favorite designs and I thought it would be my upscale, high-end version of it...

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

Do we think this one is going to follow in the Kapara / Smock model and be tough to catch on initial release? I'm getting that feeling and agree it's a great thing long term for the models and potential sprints if a bit trying for my patience aka my worst virtue... I really wish Spyderco would ramp...

Where is this and is that church still in use? If so, I know where I want to be transferred!

Re: The Waterway Will Be Mine...

Dinner or for sale? Hey Woodpuppy, mostly Dinner. If there is extra I usually throw it back but sometimes keep a couple for the workers at my condo and the neighbors. I rarely freeze fish but I had to make an exception with some of the Snapper this time. The tuna became sashimi and Poke and the Sna...

Re: Waterway Lanyard Recommendations?

Hey Zatx, I sent you this message via pm before I saw this thread but I thought I’d post it here too. Hey bud, that’s a question to which I’ve given much consideration. I have lost a couple of knives on the kayak and my first solution was to lanyard them to the kayak. I quickly stopped doing that a...

Waterway Lanyard Recommendations?

I'm looking for recommendations for a lanyard to be used on the new Waterway. I need a way to provide retention so the knife can't be lost to the bottom of a lake when your leaning over the side of the boat to make cuts. What do you recommend? Thanks! (BTW, I'm looking for options that I can purchas...

Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions

So I just wanted to share that I picked up my Waterway today from UPS, and got to handle it for a few moments, but here's the thing... my Waterway wasn't my Waterway. I bought this knife for a coworker and friend after searching for just the right knife for him for the last eight or nine years. He's...

All of this chat regarding the wear and tear of the ti on the steel has me concerned. Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions

No rust after an overnight soak in vinegar. Edge is just as sharp as it was yesterday. I touched it up on the white sharpmaker rods. Using the 15 degree slots hit the edge on the back side and the shoulder of the bevel on the presentation side. 20 degree slots hit the apex on each side. The edge se...

Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions

What an excellent review! I can’t wait to get back to the states and pick mine up from the post office on Monday. You spent considerable time writing about the handle texture, but it’s important to note that a quick pass with 220 or 400 grit sandpaper can tame that aggressiveness. It’s always best t...
