Re: Sage 5 or Para3 LW?

... You don't have to remove the lanyard tube to disassemble the Para 3. Only if you want to replace the scales. If I'm disassembling my Para3 for cleaning, I like to remove the scales to make sure there isn't any moisture/rust building up between the liner and the scale. That makes zero sense. You...

No, no, no. s30v is very cool in a Para 3. Other models, eh.

After you get it repaired, consider coating the outer threads with super glue or epoxy. This makes them much more durable.

Re: Sage 5 or Para3 LW?

Typically I choose the Sage5 over the Para3. Sage5 has non free-spinning hardware and a non press-fit lanyard tube, making disassembly easy, and the handle is thinner than the Para3. Para3 has a free-spinning stand-off and press-fit lanyard tube, making disassembly difficult, and the fatter handle ...

Re: Sage 5 or Para3 LW?

Normally I wouldn't take sides on an important question like this, but as a duty to all I will have to come down on the side of the Para 3 LW.

1. As much as I love the PM2 as-is, I'd love to see some contoured scales and color-anodize barrel spacers. I realize this will probably never happen from the factory,at least the color spacers, but would be pretty cool.
Lots of that on eBay.

Re: The CRKT Provoke

The problem is not the knife but more like, it's "another" knife. She is well aware of my addiction but wonders how much of this world do I indeed to cut up. She has a good point but my Para 3 has a better one. This is why God invented jewelry. :)

Re: CRU-WARE or CTS-XHP ?

My favorite steel is whatever is attached to a Para 3. That would be the clip, then. Right? :) Of course. The steel Spyderco uses on for it's clips for the Para 3 line is far superior to any other clip out there. It can be filed down (only with blue or red diamonds) into a mini-knife, a small spear...

Re: The CRKT Provoke

3.4" is a bit small, but the coolness factor is way up there. Plus D2 is a steel you will find very little of in CRKT. I might have to pick one up even if I have to send it back. I've already almost sent a knife back so I feel I am capable of doing it if it becomes necessary. (i.e. the Misses finds ...

Re: CRU-WARE or CTS-XHP ?

I am curious about this Which is the grail steel? CRU-WARE or CTS-XHP ? Every time I see a Paramilitary 2 come up for sale in CTS-XHP they sell out immediately and the price goes out of sight on the secondary market. Same for ELMAX and M390 where as CTS-204P nearly identical to M390 does not get as...
