Thank you. I have been a lurker for a long time and this kind of info is what drew me here. You guys rock! I have a 1095 knife that makes food taste funny until the patina redevelops which isn't long. Sometimes I just force the patina. It is a camping knife and I have to refinish it once in a while ...

Everyones speed with a sharpmaker is different. I go really really fast with knives I don't care about as much and the tips are a bit rounded on them. If you love an extremely sharp point at the tip then take your time. I'll drag the tip off the rod with the fine and ultra fine rods but if you do ...

I would start at 30 and put a full 30 degree bevel on it before working down to the fine stones at 30 degrees and then going to 40 degrees after a good 30 degree bevel has been established. I would buy a jewelers loop too. Better than a sharpie. Changed my whole game. Otherwise you are just ...

Hey man, I think people are just busting on ya. I wouldn't take it personal. It is just as easy to BS on the web as it is to be a jerk on the web so we all need to keep our guard up but the folks on here seem to have good intentions and I think they are just messing with ya. You should get a cell ...

I know there are already a ton of 3 inch knives in the lineup but I would leave the para2 alone and come up with a 3 inch version(military scout?). I prefer golden spydies since I live here and I prefer thumb ramps which the native lacks. I would buy a 3 inch Golden, CO knife with a big thumb ramp ...

I'm surprised no pics. I have carried the para2 for about a year now every day. It is the reason I am now hooked on spydies. I carried a benchmade for years until I regifted it back to the person who had gifted it to me in the first place. He really liked it more than me. I then hunted for a ...

They come with some type of blue locktite. It looks like it may actually be the kind that is pre applied to the screws but cannot be sure. I have always used purple for screws and blue for nuts and bolts. I've never used the red for anything, it is supposed to be permenent unless heated up way to ...

Thanks!

There isn't a single CruWear pic in this thread. It should be less stainless than D2, right? I am going to use mine a bunch in the next few weeks. We'll see.

It isn't a spydie but it is CPM D2/14C28N and when I got it they were both the same color. I use it every day to cut up fruit on lunch break and the D2 has gotten very dark. I just got a Millie in CruWear so if it starts to patina I'll get pics. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/bearfacedkiller ...

I have handled the chaparral 3 and while it is out of reach for this poor boy, it is certainly impressive. The machine work is just amazing. Very detailed and intricate pattern. Very MC Esher.

I usually use a pair of snips too. Or a utility knife. Usually have both close by at work. I just couldn't wait to try it out.

Based on the sizes you have I would say go either bigger or smaller. Smaller could be an air or manbug or dragonfly and bigger should be a para2 or a Millie. I carry a para2 a lot and love it.

If the sage1 is your fav the chaparral1 is a scaled down version of the sage1. It may be too similar if you are trying to add variety but it may also be the perfect companion to the sage. Native and caly3 cf are two other good choices for knives at 3 inches. They are all at different price points ...

I voted two but I do also carry a leatherman wave fairly often. Not sure if that is a knife or a tool but I use it as a tool and do not use the knives much. I wish somebody made a really nice multitool without a knife for those of us who already carry a knife or like nicer knives. Leatherman makes a ...

Two, one large and one small. Also one clean and one dirty. I do a bit of food prep so I carry a knife for those dirty jobs you wouldn't want to mix with food. I carry a spyderco (usually a para2 but today a Millie) and keep it real sharp and real clean and also carry and esee izula which is used ...

I would love a police3 with a very dark blue g10 handle (color of a police uniform) with super blue steel. I know it is not the exotic handle material many of you would choose but I would buy one in a heartbeat. It just seems to be the correct color and steel for the "police" model. ZDP would be ...
