Synthetic Handle Materials for custom/hand knife makers?
From what you all know, what are some "Non Natural" (natural in this context being stuff like wood, horn, bone, shell, ivory, stag bone, etc) synthetic handle materials that custom and hand knife makers can have access to which do not require large multi-thousand batches of products to be ...

Re: EMP Proof Mechanical Only Devices?
With all the talk about electromagnetic pulse attack dangers what are ways that society can block or minimize these? Use shielded electronics or mechanical only devices with no electronic circuits? Hasn't really ever been a topic of discussion other than when talking about nuclear war. And at that ...

Re: Nutritious safe low carb snacks?
Thank you so very much for your great replies and information. The nuts are good, especially almonds and peanuts, though I know the carb content of peanuts is on the higher side, and the yogurt is a great idea along with everything else. Thanks for the knowledge on pork, and how high enough temperat...

Thank you so very much Michael for the welcome back and I am honored! Thank you for the article. This answers my question. This section is exactly what I was looking for: "In 1981, legendary knife designer Blackie Collins created the LST® (Light, Smooth, Tough) for the equally influential Pete ...

Re: Nutritious safe low carb snacks?
Surprisingly, pork rinds of the Epic, Baken-Ets and Randall's Signature Select brands fill that niche for us. My wife is a health nut, and she's the one who introduced them to our pantry. Thanks for this. I tried the pork rinds and maybe I should give them another try. I had a bad experience since ...

Did you all know there is a fake counterfeit Fish Hunter going around? If I can find the listing I can post it in the counterfeit section of the forum. Lousy fakers. It looks stamped out from cheap metal.

David hello friend. What is your opinion of knife makers cutting serrations onto the top half of a knife blade rather than the bottom half? Would that improve cutting performance?

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
David, you really made my Sunday with this post. I haven't been over here since ages only to find this gem. As a full serrations nut since 2005, I very much appreciate this. I had a plan to make one of these post myself but you did a better job than I ever could since I can't post pics anymore on t...

I use a Coast Plasteel model but I need a more powerful model. Any suggestions? It needs to have a polymer housing and easy to replace bulb and batteries and be under 30 dollars.

Re: Salt steels for pool/chlorinated water.?
Apart from the steel, I've had the yellow FRN react to pool water and it became a little lighter then before. The H-1 held up just fine. Somewhere in the forum history I posted pictures of my before and after experiment in which I immersed a Spyderco Pacific Salt original serrated model in a jar of...

I also love my Byrd Hawkbill but I wish they will make a larger version with a 3.5 to 3.75 inch long or 3.95 inch long blade.
