Re: Magnacut AquaSalt

If you were to make a basic estimation, how much would such a knife cost? 100-200 dollars?

Re: Flashlights

Important question: Are these three different Mag Lites or are they the same light, and, if different what are the main differences? https://maglite.com/products/ml300l-4d-led-long-running-flashlight-box?_pos=1&_sid=f0e8f4da0&_ss=r vs https://www.knifecenter.com/item/MLS4D015L/maglite-4-d-ce...

Toughness differences in earlier vs current generation Endura/Delica?

Do you all think there would be any major differences in general toughness and durability of the earlier generations of the Endura and Delica models vs the current ones with current steel or not?

Re: Does sunscreen or sunblock help?

There is a place for sunscreen. I use it if I am going to be outside for very long. The radiation here is direct and not slanted, so it is fierce. Most people wear long sleeves, even in this heat, or they carry an umbrella, or both. If possible, many will wear extra wide brimmed hats. Well said, Do...

Re: Favorite sci-fi movies?

I like Star Trek because of the replicators and phasers and duranium/tritanium alloys and I like Star Wars because of the light sabers and vibro knives. I also have read so many science fiction books, novels, short stories, and seen so many movies. I like the knives and swords on Dune.

Re: Flashlights

I saw a large Mag Lite for sale. The handle casing is 15 inches long and it takes D-Cell batteries. Is that a good flash light to have?

Re: Tips On Quitting Smoking

It's all willpower period. I quit, end of MAY this year after my Heart Attack. I just stopped cold turkey, just smoke your last one the night before going to bed. Then just don't pick another one up. It helps to keep busy however. Ankerson my friend, you don't know how happy I was to read this, tha...

"Granite Stone" Kitchen knives: Good or another gimmick?

Hello everyone, a friend of mine sent me this link to Amazon for these "Granite stone" kitchen knives. He bought a set and showed me a picture of some sliced tomatoes he used it on, and he claims I should get a set. But is this more of the same cheap-quality gimmick type knives we often se...

Would or could you use other types of steel, such as Lc200n, or N690?

Ways to "Thief Proof" cars?

As others on here posted and from articles I have read there is an ongoing wave of car thefts and break-ins. This has always happened but it has increased in recent years with soft on crime policies. My question: What are methods and ways (legal, no booby trap stuff!) for people to thief-proof or ma...

Two Knives: Your comments/reviews wanted, please.

Everyone, whether you are into metallurgy or not, can you please give me your sincere comments on these two knives? One is this Marbles (Made in China) VG10 lock back with brass handle. It lists the steel as VG10. Do you think this is real VG10 and is there anyone who has tested it? That is very coo...

Re: Does sunscreen or sunblock help?

Sunscreen prevents cancer. HOWEVER, sunscreen absorbs through the skin and into the blood stream and they don't really know what it does, then. This is one reason that it concerns me. I appreciate the valuable insight into the quality sunscreens by the others on here, though. I was wearing some SPF...

Re: Stable edge steels (NOT TOUGHNESS)

Personally, I'd like to see 14C28N in some knives. It is tough like AEB-L/13C26, but is a stainless nitrogen steel. I agree 100 percent Doc. I"ve seen 14C28N in other company"s knives and I'm confident Spyderco can do well with it. Works very well in Kitchen Knives. Ankerson it is good to...

Re: Does sunscreen or sunblock help?

Buy a sunscreen made to European standards, even if you have to buy online. Most, if not all, American made sunscreens, wouldn't hold up to European standards. Most people will get plenty of vitamin D in 15-30 minutes outdoors. Of course, sunscreen will lessen how much you get. Thank you. Are there...

Does sunscreen or sunblock help?

I ask because I read and hear both sides. Medical doctors claim sun exposure causes skin cancer. But others say sunblock blocks sunlight from the skin which prevents Vitamin D production and vitamin d protects against cancer. Doctors counter respond by saying a proven correlation exists between sun ...
