+1 for a blacked out D’fly salt. That would be an excellent discrete knife for my running gear.

Re: SE Manix 2 XL
But that said: We don't even have the very popular "regular" Manix 2 in (ffg) SE yet, just a disco'ed hollow grind version... (https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?p=1783318#p1783318) 😂 I’d buy one of those too! I’m not advocating of one over the other, I just think the XL would reall...

SE Manix 2 XL
I love the Manix 2 XL - it’s a decent sized knife for rough work, sporting a rock solid lock up and intuitive ergonomics. It is the only folding knife I’ve ever used that hasn’t developed side to side blade play after a full day of hacking up plants (not a huge deal, but a testament to the robustnes...

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?
Tough question. For me it boils down to four categories - Work - Jumpmaster 2 (H1 SE) Home - Yojumbo CF S90V General Outdoors - Manix 2 XL CPM Cruwear Running/Climbing - Dragonfly Salt SE (H1) This could change quite a bit once the new Magnacut SE and PE LW Native Chief arrives though. I’m loving th...

I’d be in for a Spyderco machete, especially in H1 or similar.

Re: H1 Fixed blades
thanks Dan, although the latter assertion is debatable - I managed to stick myself with it real good whilst giving it a sharpen for her. On the upside, as least it’s had its requisite drink now and hopefully will leave my wife alone.

Re: The greatest mail call ever??
I'm quite jealous of your Catcherman, Lance. I really hope I can catch one while they're still around, and without paying crazy money, which is my only option atm. I really feel like time is running out. The PM2 salt looks nice. It's almost tempting me to give the PM2 another go, but I'll hold off ...

Re: H1 Fixed blades
So…the knife arrived and is a thing of functional beauty. Then my wife claimed it as her own having just completed her Forest School operator certification. I couldn’t say no - she really loves it

One can only hope - I’ve developed a real preference for SE on my shorter (less than 4 inch) knives. I would love an SE manix salt.

Re: CBBL vertical blade-play/lock-rock
Just playing devil’s advocate here but when you put the CBBL back together did you check the ball is fully exposed where it interacts with the lock surface? I put a manix XL back together in a rush a while back and accidentally put the cage in upside down. It still opened and closed but caused this ...

Re: H1 Fixed blades
Al I would suggest using a black marker pen to blacken the area that you want to cut. Start with a tri-angle file to get the position, and file to almost the desired depth you think you need. THEN use the chainsaw file to get the profile. That sounds sensible. It’s the TiCN coated version of Aqua S...

Re: Fish Hunter
Have you considered the Jumpmaster 2 - it’s functionally similar but a smidge more blade and a full tang. It’s a real do-anything knife - I use the absolute snot out of mine at work (I’m literally taking a break from pruning some Malaysian Dwarf coconut palms with it as I write this).
