Re: We don't actually need to Magnacut *all* the knives

If I had to pick only one steel to use for all knives, all applications, forever, for me Magnacut would be a good choice. So would LC200N. I would love to see both of these steels available in as many knives as possible, again so we have choice. Magnacut Ladybug? Yes please! 🙂

Re: Help choosing gift

I’ll mostly agree with Wartstein and recommend the Salt 2, but in plain edge. Admittedly I’m still learning to use SE well but I find PE to be more versatile and easier to improvise sharpening if needed. The Salt 2 is what finds its way into my pocket about 90% of the time if I’m not at work. It’s o...

Re: Salt Dreams

Hopefully if we keep talking about the FRN backlock Caribbean we’ll see one at some point! 😁

A smaller jumper-based salty sheepsfoot would also be awesome.

Either of those would become my new work knife if they existed. Hopefully someday!

Re: Magnacut AquaSalt

Yes, but it’s likely never happening because the handle molds are worn out. That’s why the Aqua Salt and Fish Hunter were discontinued. The Aqua Salt was my first Spyderco and is still my favorite, and I would LOVE a magnacut Aqua Salt but Sal said when they were discontinued that they would not be ...

Re: What's your interest in the VG XEOS mule?

I’m excited to play with it! I’m a sucker for increased corrosion resistance in anything, and VG-10 is still pretty great stuff for my purposes. 🙂

Re: VG XEOS

I can’t speak to any of the metallurgy, but from reading the description I’m pretty excited about trying this out. VG-10 tweaked for better corrosion resistance sounds like a dream! 😁

Would be cool to be able to purchase it in this configuration.

You made the request on Thursday night,
and Sal has it in production and revealed by Friday morning.
Impressive.

Re: Salt Dreams

In the spirit of the new reveal, a salty, blacked out Temperace 1 would be an awesome successor to the Aqua Salt.

And while we’re all dreaming, how about a Poloce Salt called the “Revenue Cutter” after the law enforcement predecessor to the US Coast Guard?

I love the dyad plus marlinspike idea. And any salt dyad I would find quite useful.

I imagine that we'll be able to entertain these "dreams" when the expansion is complete and the new machinery is operative.

Re: Help choosing gift

If he likes to fish, how about a Siren? They’ve been discontinued but are still available, and it’s a fantastic knife designed by a professional fisherman who is a member here.

Alternately, the Salt 2 and Native Salt are both excellent.

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

the Caribbean really works for me . MG2 ^This x2. Criminally underrated knife in the line up. I don't even need the salt rated aspect of it. I'd still fanboy for the design if it was just S30v and black g10. This, but with a backlock (or linerlock) ,would be so great. The rumored lightweight backlo...
